Snack Time

I often hit some great sales on cereal resulting in an abundance.  I tend to not buy the sugary stuff, but when I do I am left with small amounts of the healthier stuff left behind.  It's rather frustrating when we don't finish what is already opened leaving behind this...

Rather than toss it all in the trash, which has happened a time or two, I decided to make a somewhat healthy treat.  I purchased almond bark, pretzels, peanuts, and M&M's.
The kids were eager to help!
We dumped approximately...
10 Cups of various cereal (Trix, MultiGrain Cheerios, Kix, Honey Nut Cheerios)
8 Oz of Pretzels
2 Cups of peanuts
1 bag of M&M's
into a huge bowl and the kids mixed it up with their freshly washed hands.
I then melted a package of Almond Bark and poured it over the mixture of deliciousness.
I mixed it with a fork allowing the pieces to fall through the prongs.
I then flipped it out onto wax paper the kids set on the counter for me.
Our leftover cereal is now a yummy snack!
