Contentment

In a world of chaos, I must strive to be Content. Not my nature. But God.

Content-
A state of peaceful happiness. Fulfilled.

Peaceful happiness- by the world’s standard would be “best year ever” “best day yet” mentality. It’s a feeling of happy.

But true contentment comes from accepting Christ, and having faith that in Him you will have everything you need. 

“my soul is bereft of peace; I have forgotten what happiness is; so I say, "My endurance has perished; so has my hope from the Lord."

My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."”

2018 was a year of loss for our family and as I look ahead to 2019, I’m reminded of the hope we have in Him. The peaceful happiness, contentment that is found in Him.

Lord, help me to trust you. To know you have us all in the palm of your hand, where true contentment lies.
