FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY!!!!

A week into recovery and I got out of the house today!!!!!  I'm feeling pretty good!  I cannot remember a time I didn't leave the house for a week.  I'm itching to get back to work, preschool, grocery shopping, exercising, and living life.  The other day, someone said, "it's been 5 days already."  I just about died!  Five days of living in la la land!  Five days of wasted time.  I cannot imagine what families go through when someone is out of commision for months on end.  So, as much as I'm ready to get back to living, I'm thankful it's only been a week!  Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers, I appreciate them.

Enough about recovery it's time for Five Q Friday!  Hop on over to  Mama M's and join in the fun!

1. Have you ever had surgery?
Unfortunately, yes.  My most recent, I had my gallbladder removed last week.  Hardest recovery of all of them.

Age 4 - Tooth removed.  Dad knocked it out with a hammer on accident.  He had no idea I was behind him while he was hammering.  I had to have my front tooth pulled.
Age 14 - arthroscopic knee surgery.  Removed cartilage and discovered I had no ligament.  Downhill skiing accident.
Age 21 - 4 wisdom teeth pulled
Age 28 - DNC after a "missed abortion."  Which is what they called it because I miscarried, but never "passed the baby."  Worse surgery of my life!!!!!  Not a day goes by I don't think of that awful day on Feb. 28th, 2003 when we found out Joey had died.
Age 33 - Bone to Bone ligament reconstruction on my knee.  Quick recovery from surgery.  Months of physical therapy.
Age 36 - arthroscopic gallbladder removal....tough recovery until the day I got the script for Zofran!

That covers my surgeries.  Kind of nice to have them all documented in one place.

2. Ever ride in an ambulance?
I have.  In '02, while living in NYC, I got a ride with the NYC Fire Dept!!!!  I had broken both my feet and sprained both my ankles.  As you can see by now, my middle name is not graceful!

3. How are you in a medical emergency? Panicked? Calm?
Depends.  I can stay pretty calm if I'm the only adult around and need to stay strong for the kid's sake.  However, if there is another capable adult around to be the strong one, then I'm still pretty calm, but not the strong one.  That is until I talk to my mom or Aaron (if they aren't with me),  then I am a bucket of tears!!!!   Oh and blood, guts, broken bones...don't call me!  I cannot handle it.  You know, unless I'm the ONLY adult around.

4. Do you have a garden? Flowers or veggies?
I don't.  I'd like to.  I just haven't taken the time, energy, thought, to put one together.  Our neighbor keeps us well stocked in cucumbers and tomatoes all summer long.  If I need anything else, the Minneapolis farmers market isn't far or my cousins have a FARM!

5. When did you move out of your parents house?
I was 23.  My mom wrote me a note that said, "pay rent or move out."  I moved out within a couple months.  I wasn't about to pay rent for somewhere I lived my whole life for free!  I'm glad she did it.  The couple years I lived on my own prior to getting married made for an incredible learning experience.

It's comical reading about your ambulance ride, but I can't imagine breaking both my feet...ouch!

Glad you're feeling better, I thought I was going to go completly bonkers when I had to stay home two weeks after having my tonsils removed a few years ago...boring!!

Stopping by from the blog hop.
