The Weekend to Come
Halloween is this weekend!!!! For those of us in the Anoka area, it means a busy weekend. After all, Anoka, MN is the Halloween capital of the world. It says so HERE.
As a Christian, I went years without celebrating Halloween due to being taught it's nothing but evil. I'm sorry if you feel that way, I do not. For me and my family, it's about going trick or treating in cute little costumes, scaring the pats off of teenagers, scary movies for my hubby and me, haunted houses, and lots of candy (most of which ends up at mama's work)! It's FUN!!!!
Our festivities will start tomorrow morning. I am taking the kids to a costume contest and a kiddie parade. Later in the evening, we will partake in a Halloween 5th Birthday party at one of Allie's friend's haunted homes. We are all completely thrilled.
Saturday, I am teaching a coupon class in the morning (Aaron may take the kids up to Anoka for a carnival) and then it's off to the big Anoka parade! Afterwards, we are having friends over to carve pumpkins, eat fall foods, and play games.
Sunday, we are heading to church and then home to prepare for the evening. We are going trick or treating in our neighborhood and in grandma and grandpa's. Then, it's back to church for an evening of games and prizes.
Busy, busy, busy! And oh so much fun! How 'bout you? Do you celebrate? Big plans for lots of candy?
