Just the Two of Us
I started our Anniversary off with a card for Aaron and a gift he's wanted for sometime. A couple weeks ago, I went in to have my wedding set cleaned and came out with a diamond set pinky ring for Aaron. He was shocked (mostly because I would never spend money like that, ever). He loved it!
I too was shocked when I received 24 of these when I walked into work on our anniversary....

Prior to work, I dropped the kids off at Grandma Sue and Grandpa Craig's for four days! This was the best gift ever! Just the two of us!
Aaron had to work Friday, so I had a whole day to myself! I headed to the Y for my workout, Hancock Fabrics for tulle (the lady at Michaels didn't know what tulle was, so I didn't buy any there), and home to a movie and peacefullness! I made Allie a tutu, hair bow, and bracelet for the 4th. It was so nice not to have any responsibilities for the day!
Friday evening we were off to The Melting Pot for dinner. We did the full four courses! Our first course, Wisconsin Cheese served with bread, raw veggies, and Granny Smith slices. Our second course, for him...lettuce wraps, for her...spinach salad with portebellos and bacon. Our third course, cilantro and citrus flavored broth served with tuna, steak, keylime shrimp, pork, chicken, and a lobster tail. Out fourth and final, grand finale course, flaming turtle chocolate fondue served with cheese cake, brownie, rice krispie bar, strawberries, and marshmellows. The cost...waaaaaayyyyy to much. The night....priceless! Just the two of us!
Saturday morning we were up and at em early and off to the Wabasha Street Caves. I had an english muffin with peanutbutter while we waited for our tour to start. Aaron just sat and smiled...

We boarded the tour bus. Just the two of us!

We were off on an adventure. It was on this bus with this lady...

that we learned about Ma Barker and the Barker Boys, Dapper Dan, Chief Brown, The O'Connor System, Speak Easies, Hamm Brewery, Mr. Hamm, Edna (pictured above), and all the gangster happenings of St. Paul, MN. It was by far the best tour I have ever been on in my entire life! If you are intrigued by gangsters and like (even a wee bit) history, take this tour! It's 23.50/person and worth every lickin' penny! For more information just click right here! You will not be disappointed!
And if you don't go on the tour, Edna and her Tommy Gun (yes, it's real. No, it doesn't work. Yes, it was cool. Yes, I held it. Yes, it's an antique. No, it's not for sale. Yes, it weighs 8 lbs without the bullets. Yes, it was cool. Yes, Aaron held it to.) will come looking for you!
Yes, he's cool.
No, not as cool as the gun.
Yes, we actually did eat here! We shared a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake. It was soooo yummy and very greasy, but sooo yummy!
We then headed over to the Science Museum and took a walk through the Dead Sea Scrolls. I thought it would just be the scrolls, but it was so much more. I learned about the area they were found in, the people who found them, the containers they were found in, the people who translated them, the scrolls they were wrote on, the ink they were written with, and all the different ways they've been interpreted. And to think, they were written while Jesus walked the earth! AMAZING!!!!!
We left the museum and headed over to Minneapolis to take in some of the arts of the Pride Festival. It was hot, and muggy, and uncomfortable weather wise, so we didn't stay long. It was fun to see an old friend and meet some new.
We then headed home where Aaron made steak on the grill and I made some amazing brownies. Our friends, Pat and Karen stopped by for a bit and then it was just the two of us.
Sunday morning we woke to this...
We sat and watched before heading out to brunch at Perkins (where we first fell in love).
Just the two of us.
