What a Week (April 19th-April 22nd)
Aaron applied for a new job! I know, again? He couldn't pass it up. $500 more a month and 5 minutes from home, yes again!
He had his first interview on Monday, April 19th. It was a group interview and all the candidates did was stand for 2 mintues and talk about themselves.
Aaron said something like, "Hi, I'm Aaron and I've been in collections for 10+ years. I am a husband to a wonderful wife and a daddy to two great kids. We have a frog named Permit and I'm very involved with the children's ministries at my church." Them, "Permit?" "Yeah, I love the Muppets and my son named him after Kermit."
Well they must have been Muppet fans too (or maybe it was the fact he wore a suit and the guy next to him had on ripped jeans and a t-shirt) cause he got a second interview on Wednesday!
The second interview was also a group interview and they gave them popcorn questions like, "why is a man hole round?" You know, just to see who is quick on their feet.
Apparently my husband had all the right answers (well the man hole is round cause that's the only shape fat guys like me can fit in) cause he went back Thursday for a 3rd interview.
Thursdays interview was Aaron and 4 managers and an owner. They chatted about collections stuff and told him he'd hear back that evening as to their decision (they wanted the hirees to start Monday).
So, Thursday evening came and we followed through with a trip to Build A Bear with the kiddos...
They shopped for new outfits for their bears
(yes, that's Kermit on my daughter's shirt)
and shopped...
and shopped.
Meanwhile, daddy was hanging out in the hallways cause that's the only place his phone had signal. Me, I was stressed to the MAX at this point (he has now worked 6 hours at his current job for the week due to all the interviews. If he doesn't get this job, he could lose the one he has due to calling in all week. Not to mention, it's 5 minutes from home and 500 more a month! All I see is $$$$ and lunch with my hubby everyday! He has to get this job!). It was going on seven o'clock and no call. I had to pee, but the kids didn't want to leave the store. I blew up..."Kids, set the stuff down, I have to pee and I have to find your dad this is ridiculous!" So, as I storm out of the store, daddy turns the corner and takes the kids back into the store (you know, cause I threw a fit and told him he had to). I went pee. Walked back into the store and wouldn't you know, my dear husband found a bathroom right there in the store! Boy am I a stressed out fool or what? So, like any good parent/wife, I apologize for my tantrum and we shop some more. They each got an outfit and shoes for their animals and off we went...home.
By this time, it is now 8:30pm. No phone call. Stressed parents.
My husband decides we should go pick up my running shoes at the Running Room (best store evah). We do. Head back to the car. Drive down the road and it is now 9:00pm. Phone rings.
My thoughts...Who the heck is calling your cell at 9pm, honey? What? What?
Tears begin to flow as I hear, "yep, no problem, I'll be there Monday morning at 8am."
Thank you, Lord! We can rest now.
