Filed Under Grace - Praise for a job!
My friend, Kristina, is starting a new blog hop. I believe it is a blog hop worth following and linking up with. Here's her description...
Do you pray? When God answers, do you pay attention, take note? Do you keep track of His care, write it down for yourself and for your children?
I want to remember, to keep an account of His grace and mercy in my need. He is here, with me, answering before I ask. I want to remember. The grace is His gift, to me, to you. The Glory is His. He has done these things, and He deserves the credit.
So let us gather together and bring praise to the One whose love is extravagant, whose compassion is never failing. Whether it be a prayer answered, or a desire He knew and answered before you could even ask, would you share it here and encourage the community?

My Turn
Oh, I have soooo much to be thankful for this month, but one thing stands out!
This past month in church, our pastor has been preaching on tithing and Trying God. A bit of background, Aaron and I have always struggled in this area. Neither of our parents were great examples of how to tithe or manage money (not a slam on them, it's our opinion as we both like to spend every last penny). I know for my parents tithing was something you did if there was a bit extra (from what I remember). Listening to the pastor this past month, I decided we would tithe. The first Sunday God layed this on my heart, I had left the checkbook at home, so I vowed the following Sunday would be the day to start. Wouldn't you know, Aaron lost his job that Thursday! Well, I know, anytime you are moving forward in God, Satan sets up road blocks.
The following Sunday came and so had a paycheck. I came downstairs and asked Aaron, "we're tithing, so how much?" I'm thinking 25-50 bucks, I mean really, he just lost his job and rent was due. God would understand. Aaron said, "well, my check is...., so 130 dollars." My mouth hit the floor. What? Really? "We are tithing, aren't we?" (Tithe in our home = 10%, the Bible says so) So I wrote out the check and dropped it in the offering. Wouldn't you know...we paid rent (1200), we paid tithe (130), and we had leftover (100+)!!!!! On paper this doesn't add up (remember tithe is 10%, do the math)! That my readers is what happens when you test and trust God. In Aaron's words, "I know honey, following God is both scary and exciting!" {Whatever you say dear, I do the finances}
Also, that same week, Aaron had an interview and was offered the position! The position, doing what he's always done. However, more money and unlimited overtime!
AMAZING!

And I call that "God math!"
Another favorite phrase that I think applies:
"God is rarely early, but never late!"
Blessings and thanks for participating!
