Spice "It" Up

Taken from "Today's Christian Woman" and "Lists to Live by for Every Married Couple," written by Alice Gray

1. Don't interrupt or correct him when he's telling a story
2. Compliment him in front of his children, your parents, his parents, and friends
3. Be as concerned about your looks as you were when you were dating
4. Develop a genuine interest in his work and hobbies
5. Stick to your budget
6. Try to go to bed together at the same time every night
7. Ask yourself every day: "What's it like being married to me?"

I came across this list while waiting for a therapy appointment one day and it hit home for me. I think 2 and 7 are the hardest hits for me.

It's much easier to point out the negatives in someone then the positive. However, if I were to say, "I left for work today and Aaron was doing all the laundry! Man he is a huge help around the house!" The elation Aaron would feel from those words is incredible. Men are simple, pat them on the back for the little things and the big things will get done too! Making for a much happier marriage.

Thinking of this past weekend, I would NOT want to be married to me this week! I complained about every little thing Aaron did. I never lifted him up. I ripped him apart for the littlest things. I plan to conscientiously be a better wife this week!
