Five Question Friday on Saturday
It's Friday SATURDAY!!!!
I've been up since 5:30. Yes, you read that correctly! I can't sleep in to save my soul. I have become a morning person! How on earth did that happen?
This week flew by. It started as one of the worst weeks I've had in a loooong time. My uncle was in an accident on Sunday evening and landed himself in ICU. Without knowing if he'd even make it through the first 48 hours, we are happy to say, he was up walking around yesterday!!!! If you'd like to follow his progress, his Caring Bridge is on my FB page.
I had insurance training this week and it was a nightmare to say the least. Tuesday, I was ready to head back to the NICU. I felt like a complete moron. Everything was foreign to me. Insurance companies, reading the patient's insurance cards, knowing what system to use to look up different insurance coverages. Mind blowing! Nothing I've learned as a HUC the past 6 years will help me as a scheduler. Prior, I used or computer system to verify tests and procedures, now I use it to schedule test and procedures. It's absolutely mind boggling to me to go from being an expert in my career to a know-nothing. Thank God I'm a quick learning, smart cookie! By Thursday, I was ready to take on whatever the clinic threw at me! Insurance...I totally got this.
My hubby surprised me the past couple weeks with my very own laptop! I am in love. Although, I must admit, I still check FB, Twitter, and email from my phone. He laughs at me and wonders why he spent the money. I keep telling him old habits are hard to break.
The kids were on spring break this week. It was hard not to be the one home doing all the fun stuff with them. Aaron took them to MOA and they made a Kermit at Build-A-Bear. He's such a great dad! He also dropped them with my friend, Sarah, for a day with their BFs! So glad they managed to have a fun vaca without mama around. I know my sacrifice of time with them this week will pay off when I see them every night after school next week!
Here's to the end of spring break, a weekend off with the family, and St. Patty's Day!
1. Will you run to the store or to pick up a kid looking a mess?
Absolutely!
Truth be told, I could give a rip what someone else thinks of me. Especially now that I "dress up" everyday. Bring on the sweats, hair pulled back in bobby pins, and no make up! I'm a simple girl and I like it that way.
So, if you see me at Target, and I look awful, just smile and say hi!
2. Do you finish a book if it's boring or you don't like it?
Most of the time, yes. I wait for it to get good. Waste.of.time. You'd think I'd learn!
3. Beach or mountain vacations?
Beach! Especially if it is just Aaron and I. Give me one of those Beach homes. You know the one where I wake up and the ocean is right there. Yes. That. Private island...even better.
I drove in the mountains when we moved to NYC and I'd need some Atavan to do that again! FREAKY! You hit the side of the road and your are tumbling right down the side of the mountain. Yeah, no thanks.
Although, I'd really like to go out snowmobiling with my family in Yellowstone, so I could be persuaded. You know, with Atavan.
4. What thing/event says "winter will end and spring is right around the corner" to you?
The peek of grass. The fresh rain smell in the air. The warmer day with a breezy night. Snow pants, winter coats, boots replaced with sandals, rain boots, jackets, shorts. Birds chirping in the early morn. Oh, yes, spring is a beautiful thing.
5. Would you prefer couples or family vacation?
Can I please choose both?!
I'd love to have the happy medium. You know, kids come with, stay with a daycare provider at times we want to be alone. But, that will NOT happen! I do not trust some people I know to care for my kids, why on earth would I leave them with a stranger? So, if one of the grandma's would like to come with on a cruise or to a private island, then by all means. I'd love it!
Aaron would disagree. Private islands (totally my dream) and cruises are for adults only! My kids, however, want to go on a Disney cruise so bad!
Which brings me to my next thought...Disney again? Washington D.C.? South Dakota? Vegas (adults only, kid's home with grandma)? NYC? Oh I want vacation NOW!!!!! Added bonus...Paris....that's where my 10 year old asked to go!
