Five Q Friday
Friday is here and gone.
My week flew by! It was my last week being home during the day, which means lots of ALONE time! Yeah, not so much.
Monday, Jonathan was home sick. When I first woke up, I was in no way happy to see his smiling face sitting upon my couch. Then, it hit me. I took a new job to spend more time with my kids! Jonathan and I played games, cleaned the house, and cuddled (I doubt he was really sick, just wanted some mama time as I had worked two doubles the previous weekend).
Tuesday, Allie was home sick. My poor girl was sick! She had vomited in the night and felt horrible. She perked up about 2pm and was ready to burst with energy. Thank the Lord it was short lived.
Wednesday, they had their first ever snow day! Our district never closes. Ever. The kids were thrilled to say the least. They made snow forts, drank hot cocoa, had homemade chocolate chip cookies, played the game of Life, and had a day they won't soon forget!
Thursday, I worked my last evening in the NICU (except if I pick up as I am staying casual). It was a tough day. I cried at 3pm when the day shift left. I cried at 7pm when the 12 hour peeps left. I cried again at 11:00pm then my shift ended. It was an emotional day. Many of the people working that evening, I won't see unless I go visit, which I will. It was nice knowing how appreciated I am. We have a dinner planned for Sunday and I can't wait to see everyone again. I really do love my co-workers. Six years together in a highly tense environment means family for life! Let's not forget all those babies I had a part in "saving." Oh how I will miss it there. Moving on... to weekends, holidays, and evenings off!
Friday, we had a women's event at church and I was part of the planning committee. Which meant I was at church alllll day. We had 48 vendors, food, entertainment, and lots of fun! My sister, Ky, came, along with my two sister-in-laws, mother-in-law, and one of my best friends. It was a blast!
And now, it's Saturday and I'm relaxing. Hope you don't mind.
And now, here it is, 5QF with my friend, Mama M.
1. Where is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Disney World! Hands down. They make you feel like the queen of the ball. Our family felt like we were in heaven on earth.
That said, Disney is the first vacation for our family of four. We have a list of places we want to see. We love traveling. Exploring new places. Learning new things. However, every time we talk about where we should go next, Disney is at the top!
2. What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
My phone. It's near me 24/7. It's sad. Email, Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, Solitaire, Words with Friends, all at my finger tips no matter where I am. It's sad. I often think I'd like to go back to when it was "just a phone."
3. What is your favorite fashion trend right now? Or, in the past?
Boots. Love 'em. I admire them. I own a short pair of brown ones. I like them. But, I really want the knee high ones. Bad. But, I can't. I have fat calves. They suck. I've always had big calves. Lots of muscle, I suppose.
Moving on.
I love my scarves! Just a flip around the neck and a whole new look is made. I love 'em! They fit my neck perfectly. I don't have a fat neck. It doesn't suck. And scarves look absolutely fabulous around it!
4. What are your spring break plans?
We were going to go to Louisiana and visit my grandparent's, Uncle, and Aunt. That is not happening. Boo! Instead, I get to start my new job and work everyday! We do have the weekends before and after spring break off together, so we may go to a hotel with a water park.
Aaron is getting new hearing aids over break and we are so excited. do you know what it's like to have a husband who only hears half of what you say? Oh, yeah, you probably do. Well, hopefully his new hearing aids that we will get at a 20% discount with insurance covering $2000 of, will help my husband to hear all of what I say! Isn't God good? He called the audiologist to see what they cost and when he asked if my employer gives a discount, we found out we can basically get amazing hearing aids buy one get one!!!!!
It will be a great spring break!
5. What baby names do you hate?
Why this question? Do you want people to be offended and hate on everyone? UGH! That said, please don't be offended.
Working in the NICU, I hear a lot of names. I hate made up names. I cannot stand when someone uses an Y where there should be an I or any other letter that should not be. Leah is LEAH not LEYGHA! Do you want to mess up your kid's teachers and thus mess up your kids because no one can for the life of them figure out how to pronounce your kid's name? Yeah, me either.
I like good ol' fashion traditional names with traditional spellings.
But that's just me, ya'll do whatcha want.
