Summer Recap
At the beginning of the summer (seems so long ago), our family made this Summer Fun List. I believe we nearly completed it! Here's a recap...
1. Teddy Bear Park- With our friends (Laura and Sarah)!
2. Bunker Beach (3 times actually)
3. Valleyfair- Jonathan and Aaron went for their birthdays! It's becoming a tradition for them. Sorry, no pics.
4. Camping- With my parents and my sister's family.
5. Go to the beach- 2X...which is NOT enough!
6. Bon fires
7. State Fair- We went twice again this year! Once with the kiddos and once without. The highlights with the kids...Little Farm Hands, Allie's face painted like a puppy, going on the Mouse Trap with Jonathan, and spending time together as a family. Highlight on date night...Ye Old Mill!!!!
8. Como Zoo and rides - Aaron and the kids went a couple times while I was at work. They even got to go with auntie Nikki once!
9. Lion's Park - Oh, I think we made it there once this summer. Sorry, no pics.
10. Bike rides - Again no pics, but we did accomplish a bike ride or two.
11. Stay at cousins - CHECK! The kids stayed at auntie's a couple times this summer and we went camping with them!
12. Water fights! - We had a water fight one hot evening. Not sure how it started, but Aaron had the hose, Jonathan had a large bucket, and Allie and Mama ended up with small bowls. How did that happen?
13. Movie theater - We did not make it to the movies. There really wasn't anything we had to see.
14. Chuck E Cheese - We did not. It is more of a winter activity and in Minnesota, you need to leave something to do during the loooong, cold, winter.
15. Anoka Pool- Check! The kids were able to go with Auntie Tori (she's not really their auntie, but we have a couple friend family aunties and uncles too)! They had a blast!
16. Feed My Starving Children - Again, more of a winter thing, so we will keep that on the winter list.
17. MOA - After much begging, we did make it to the MOA a couple times this summer. I like to save this for winter as well, but the kids would go every week if time permitted!
18. Twins Game- Aaron and I made it to a game this year and had a blast! Next summer, I hope to bring the kids. Let's be honest, it's a bit expensive to take kids who I know will not sit still and beg for cotton candy, peanuts, popcorn, ice cream, and soda. My highlight, spending time with my favorite person! Aaron's highlight, getting on the Tron (here he is in the red hat...not sure how he does it, but he manages to get on there every time)!
19. Lil Li Putt - We did not make it once again. We did mini-golf at MOA when we went (for free), so that makes up for it, right?
20. Sleepover at our house with friends- Check! The kid's had a sleepover with the Ruch family and man did they have a good time. I love how close our kids are and pray it never changes!
