1. How close to your childhood dreams is your life now?
Aside from becoming a teacher or a bus driver, I am living my dream. I have a loving husband, two awesome kids, and a baby waiting for me in heaven. I also have a roof over my head and my basic needs are met. So, yes, my childhood dreams have been met. And truth be told, I'm a teacher and a bus driver too. I have taught my kids quite a bit and I certainly drive them where ever they want to go. Sometimes, I even drive them crazy.
Now to fulfill my grown up dreams!
2. What is one must have item for the summer?
Water. In the form of a pool or beach!
3. Do you have your kids stay up on school stuff during summer vacation? (Or, if you don't have kiddos, did your parents make you keep up on school stuff during summer?)
I have always said kids need a break and school's out for summa! However, in the past couple years, I've seen the repercussions of that attitude. Therefore, this year, I vow to encourage my kids to read daily, write a short essay each week or journal entry if you will of the weeks activities, and I found a website to brush up on their math skills (Math Link). All in all, I hope to spend a whopping 1-2 hours/week on all the above (except reading, that's daily). So, nothing hard core, I just don't want them to forget how to cross their T's and dot their I's.
4. Do you can or freeze fresh produce?
I do not. I wish to, but haven't yet. I will be buying lots of corn on the cob, and many fresh fruits and veggies this year! I also plan to make my wish come true. We acquired a deep freezer this year and I plan to fill it for winter with all of my great finds at the Farmer's Market! Any good recipes, hints, or tips on how to freeze fresh produce?
5. Do you get ready for the day first thing in the morning?
Heavens NO! I'm a OMW (oh my word)-we-need-to-leave-in-1/2 hour-and-I'm-not-showered kind of girl! It drives my husband bananas!!!! Maybe I should try and change that? Nah.
