Day One of Thirty

Hi!  I am Jolene.  I am a mom to two awesome kids and a wife to an amazing husband!  I work in a level IV NICU and love my job as HUC (Health Unit Coordinator).

In my spare time (whatever that is), I enjoy scrapbooking, spending time with friends, hanging out with my family, church, reading, and playing games.

FIFTEEN FACTS

(In random order)

1.  My husband and I have been married 10 years.  My parents have been married for 40 years.  My husband's parents have been married 38 years.  My grandparents have been married 61 years.  There is no divorce in my childrens' direct lineage.

2.  My current job in the NICU is the longest I've been employed in one place (5 years and counting).  I love my job!  Oops, you already know that.

3.  I have been blogging since January of 2009.  Here's my first post. 

4.  I have been to all but 14 states in the USA and have family all over the country.  Someday, I'd love to travel the world!  We are starting with Disney World and my aunt's in Florida next month (our first family vacation).

5.  I was born and raised in Minnesota (lived in the same home for 21 years).  I've lived here all my life with the exception of 10 months (we were missionaries in NYC). 

6.  I have also traveled to Norway, Sweden, and Canada (you know, 8 hours away).

7.  I have met the Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase (he is a class act guy).  I also met Paul Wellstone (thought he was a jerk).  I know Trish VanPilsum (she's a sweetheart).  That's the extent of my "celebrity" connections.  

8.  My son goes to a public charter school and we love it there.  Our daughter will join him next year (tear). 

9.  I believe there is no cookie cutter to parenting.  Do what is best for you and your family without judgement of another! 

10.  I believe in Jesus!  He's my Lord, Savior, Protector, Provider, Forgiver, and Friend!

11.  I inspire one day to RUN a 5K.  I'll start with a block.

12.  I'm currently the "bread winner" in our household.  It's a lot of pressure and I don't like it all that much.

13.  My husband is in school full-time.  He will one day be the "bread winner" again.

14.  I'm a proud mom and wife.  I brag talk about my kids and husband A LOT!  I wonder if my co-workers get sick of hearing about them?

15.  In February I donated my hair to Locks of Love....
