Love Makes Sacrifices

He laid down His life for us.  We should also lay down our lives for our brothers. – 1 John 3:16 HCSB

"Needs" according to "The Love Dare."

Is he “hungry” – needing you sexually, even when you don’t feel like it?

Is she “thirsty” – craving the time and attention you seem to be able to give everyone else?

Does he feel like a “stranger” – insecure in his work, needing home to be a refuge and sanctuary?

Is she “naked” – frightened or ashamed, desperate for the warm covering of your loving affirmation?

Is he feeling “sick” – physically tired and needing you to help guard him from interruptions?

Does she feel in “prison” – fearful and depressed, needing some safety and intervention?

 

Today’s Dare

What is one of the greatest needs in your spouse’s life right now?  Is there a need you could lift from their shoulders today by a daring act of sacrifice on your part?  Whether the need is big or small, purpose to do what you can to meet the need.

Wow, if I got down to it, I feel Aaron's biggest need right now is financial.  As the head of our home, supplying the finances to our home has always been a "duty" of his.  With him in school full-time, I am now the financial provider.  I'm not doing a very good job of it.  I go to work, I do what I can, but it's honestly not enough to make ends meet.  Aaron carries the weight of this burden due to him being the head of our home.  That said, it is not in Aaron's nature, make up, to work and go to school full-time.  So rather than him failing at both, we are choosing he focus on one, school.  In the long run, this will pay off, but today, it's not easy.  

I need at lighten the load.  I do my best to not eat out, to use my resources to cut corners on living expenses, and take care of the finances without complaint.  However, I'm sure if I prayed, if we prayed, and paid our tithe every Sunday, God would lighten the load a whole lot more than I ever could!

Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)
