Love Dare Day 27

Love Encourages

Guard my soul and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You. – Psalm 25:20

Today’s Dare
Eliminate the poison of unrealistic expectations in your home. Think of one area where your spouse has told you you’re expecting too much, and tell them you’re sorry for being so hard on them about it. Promise them you’ll seek to understand, and assure them of your unconditional love.

I feel the one area I expect more out of Aaron then he is able to give, is cleaning.  I am methodical and able to clean the entire house spotless in all of 2 hours.  Aaron's idea of clean is most of the dishes are done, no counters wiped off, floors not scrubbed, most of the toys picked up, most of the clothes put away, and/or it looks better now, then 5 minutes ago.  Is his way wrong?  Nope.  Do I have higher expectations then status quo?  Yep.  Is my way better?  To me, yes.  To him or anyone else who walks in our home, no.  At the end of the day, what matters most...kids well taken care of and a fun time with dad, or a clean house that meets my expectations?  I go with the happy kids, happy daddy!

Lord, help me to continue curbing my expectations.

Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)
