Love Dare Day 19
Love is impossible
Let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. –I John 4:7
TODAY’S DARE
Look back over the dares from the previous days. Were there some that seemed impossible to you? Have you realized your need for God to change your heart and to give you the ability to love? Ask Him to show you where you stand with Him, and ask for the strength and grace to settle your eternal destination.
What do you believe God is saying to you? Is there a stirring in your heart? What decision have you made in response to this?
None of the dares have seemed impossible, but NO NEGATIVE talk has been a tough one! It's so hard to bite my tongue when I completely disagree with Aaron. Take today for instants. I did not hold my tongue, not in the least. He was following the directions I has asked him to look up. However, I knew approximately where we were going and he started driving in the complete opposite direction. I flipped! We were already late (my fault, which I later admitted) and he was making us later! Was he really? Nope. It was me, ALL me! If I had shut my mouth, we could have made it to small group in complete peace. We did not. It was a full blown yelling match with tears included. Looking back, if I had only bit my tongue our arrival at our new small group would have been much more enjoyable for us all. One thing we did right in the scenerio, we made up before walking in; agreeing to discuss the mishap later in a calm manner.
Love is not impossible with God.
God has been stirring something in me for quite sometime now (thus the Great Date Experience and the Love Dare). I desire to be a better person, starting with the title of Wife. Throughout this reading, it speaks of reading your Bible, going to church, prayer time, all typical Christian things to do. However, if I was honest with myself, I would admit I do not read my Bible on a regular basis. I have no excuses. I really need to get back into God's word on a regular basis. It has always made a difference in my life and lives of those around me.
Love is not impossible with God.
I recently joined a Bible study at church and as a family, we started attending small group. We are all excited about the changes we are making as a family to put God first in our lives. It's not easy (He never said it would be), but it is rewarding!
Love is not impossible with God.
This is impossible, but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
