Love Promotes Intimacy

Today’s Dare

Determine to guard your mate’s secrets (unless they are dangerous to them or to you) and to pray for them. Talk with your spouse, and resolve to demonstrate love in spite of these issues. Really listen to them when they share personal thoughts and struggles with you. Make them feel safe.

Quite a bit of today's lesson talked about having intimacy in the respect of secrets between you and your spouse.  Having secrets, honoring those secrets by keeping them between the two of you, and opening yourselves up to one another.  Other than one issue, Aaron and I have always been 100% honest and forthcoming with one another.  We share everything...hopes, dreams, failures, accomplishments, struggles...we wear our hearts right there on our sleeves. 

In light of today's Dare, I did go back and delete a blog post I typed up a couple months ago.  Not for any other reason then to honor today's Dare.  God's changing me, Aaron, and the way I blog.  I don't see the point in "airing dirty/clean laundry" like I did in this post.
