Love Dare Day 3

  Love is Not Selfish

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love;

give preference to one another in honor. -Romans 12:10

Selfishness.  Boy aren't we all selfish?!  It's tough to do onto others without selfish ambition, is it not?  I would say 99% of the time, I can say I am not a selfish person.  I serve others, do for others, becuase I enjoy it.  There is the 1% though.  That 1% when it's, "if I do......then I will most likely receive....."  It's that 1%, I'd like to do without in my life.  I want to do for others out of honor.  Primarily, I want to do for Aaron becuase I honor him as my husband, the father of my children, and my best friend. 

The task today was to buy something for your spouse to show him/her you thought of them today.  This was so tough for me for multiple reasons.  A. I was busy all day.  B.  Finances are tight.  C.  It was 8pm before I could escape alone to a store.  

I managed.   I really wanted to get him a Stryper CD he doesn't have; that would really show how much I thought of him.  However, it would also be out of my price range at this time.  I was going to buy something from an "adult" store, but I honestly wasn't "into" it.  I was going to buy him steak dinner, but that too was out of my price range. 

What did I buy??? 

Steak fajitas for one to share with him, and Cherry Chocolate Chunk ice cream!  May not seem like much to some, but it showed I thought about him.  Cherry Chocolate Chunk ice cream is his FAVORITE and I do not buy it for him all that often. 

Did he get overly excited about this, nope.  Was he pleased, yes.  Did I do it to get a reaction, nope.  Did I do it because I love and honor him, yes. 

Today was difficult due to the busy day and lack of fincances, but easy because I enjoy buying things for the man I love.
