Why I love him...
Ten years ago yesterday I married my best bud.
Why I was attracted to him then...
*He was "different." Most guys were so straight laced at our church, but Aaron had piercings and wore a fun maroon suit.
*His blue eyes, especially when he wore his navy blue MN TWINS hat backwards.
*Fun! Oh my word he had fun!
*His love for kids. He helped in kids ministries and he genuinely loved each and everyone of them. Especially the more difficult ones.
*His love for Jesus. There is nothing like a man of God worshipping his creator. Especially if it involved crying.
*His tender heart. My husband is a cryer and I love it!
*His love for his family. He has always treated his mom and dad with incredible respect and honor and that was something I very much admired.
*Smart. As much as I loathed politics, he loved them. And for some reason, it's hot to listen to him speak of controversial things.
*Comedian! The man boy would make a room bust out in laughter at any given moment.
*Spontaneous. There is no agenda with Aaron. He flies by the seat of his pants at all times.
Now, the last three, over the years, at times, have irritated me to no end. Have you ever noticed that. The reasons you were attracted to someone, eventually those reasons drive you insane!!!! Why is that? Well, instead of continuing to let those reasons bother me, I am learning to love those things about him again.
Why I am attracted to him now...
*His eyes. I still love those eyes!
*The way he kisses my forehead. I know it sounds nuts, but I love when he hugs me and kisses my head.
*Our goofy little games we play. Like taking your fingers and see how close they can be near each other without touching.
*Games. I love to kick his butt in Cribbage, Scrabble, Hand and Foot...
*His love for our kids. He is such an amazing dad!
*His love for Jesus!
*His longing to be a better husband, daddy, man of God! He works diligently each and everyday to be a better man.
*He's smart.
*He's a comedian. His one liners crack me up.
*He's laid back. I haven't always liked this, but lately, it's nice to have one of us say, "let's not work in the yard, let's relax."
*His political views and his ability to stand up for what he believes even if it's against the grain. As much as I complain about this to him, I actually admire him for it.
I love you, Aaron!
Happy Anniversary!
