Journey of Us Part VII

We returned home in August of 2003 from the great city of New York.  We moved into my friend, Angie's home for about 3 weeks.  It was there my life was turned upside down.

Terry, Angie's husband came home one evening and took my husband out for coffee.  When they returned, Terry, Angie and their girls left.  It was then my husband told me he had an addiction.  The devistation!  I wanted to run.

I couldn't.  Angie had said before she left, "whatever happens, neither of you can leave."  So, I didn't.  I stayed, he got help, and we moved in with my sister.  This was the start of a 6 year roller coaster.  I'm proud to say he has been sober now 18 months!

I digress.  We lived with Kylene for about 2 weeks. Then, finally, after a year of living with others, we got our own apartment!  We moved to Blaine.  Aaron, by now, was back working at Viking doing collections.  Meanwhile, I started doing daycare for David and Sarah.

In 2004, we decided to buy our first home, a condo in Brooklyn Park.  We were so excited!  I should note, all this time, we were trying and trying and trying to conceive and were unsuccessful.

Finally, in September of 2004, Aaron said, "you need to stop.  If all we have is Jonathan, you need to be content."  So, like any good wife who listens to her husband, I sold everything "baby."  EVERYTHING.  Five months later, Aaron and I were at a retreat at Emmanuel Christian Center as leaders for Alpha.  It was Friday night and they asked if any leaders needed prayer.  I ran to the alter and cried out, "I expect God to get me pregnant this weekend!"  Pastor Rich looked at Aaron and said, "you'd better join her up here."  Needless to say, exactly to the date, Feb28th, two years after sending Joey to Jesus, we conceived, Allie!  God was so faithful!  Prayer works!
