Week in Review

Our week is coming to a close, but it only gets busier.
Monday, I had my friend, Sara and her adorable baby boy over for a "playdate."  It's not like the baby plays, but the mommy's did.  Ok, we just chatted, but it was fun!  We also had my friend's little girl over for the evening.  My friend, Tori, is currently a single mom who is going to school and we take her daughter, Charlie every Monday evening.  It seems like a lot, but we love having her.  She and Allie come up with some crazy stuff to do and we kick back and giggle.  We also had my friend, Sarah and her family over for dinner (tacos and root beer floats).  The kids ran around and played and the parents watched TV.  Awesome entertaining on our part.  The guys watched Multiplicity while we watched "The Final Rose, Bachelor."  All in all, it was a fun-filled day.

Tuesday, Allie and I embarked on an adventure to the middle of nowhere to meet up with bloggy friends, Tina, Holly, and Laura and all their darling children.  We ate, laughed, chatted, laughed some more, played, chatted more, and ate some more for 6+ hours.  Funny, we met at a resteraunt a few weeks ago and hung out for 6+ hours then too.  I see a trend here.  I have come to love these women and I thoroughly enjoy my time with them.  After leaving the middle of nowhere, we traveled home to spend a quiet evening watching American Idol with the boys.  It's funny to hear my four year old say, "Um, now that was pitchy to me."

Wednesday, I arose at 5:30am to turn over my new leaf.  You see, I'm overweight.  If you can't see that, I'll borrow you my glasses.  A couple of years ago, Jonathan (then 6) said, "mommy, can you lose weight, so you can go on all the rides with me (my chest gets in the way of any bars dropping over head)."  Well, the day has come.  I'm done.  We are planning a trip to Disney this next year and I'll be danged if I'm gonna be the "fat mom" who can't go on the rides.  No offense if your that mom, I just don't want to be.  So, I got up, and headed to the gym before the sun rose.  I walked the treadmill for 30 minutes, stretched, and headed back home before the sun rose.  Then, I cleaned out the kid's toy room, cleaned the kitchen and the rest of the house and before I knew it was 8:30am.  Now what?  I have the whole day ahead of me.  I did what any good mom would do, I called my friend, Sabrina, so her and her boys could come play.  Allie was thrilled.  After they left, I brought Allie to grandma's and off to work I went.

That brings us to today.  Allie and I had a lazy morning.  I worked on some paperwork and Allie worked on her TV viewing.  We headed to the Y around noon.  I walked the mill for 30, stretched, and vacated.  I dropped Allie with grandma and came to work.  Sadly, I haven't seen the whites of my son's eyes since Tuesday evening.  I miss him terribly.  Glad he has the day off tomorrow.

Which brings us to the rest of the week...tomorrow, we are watching Erika for Sarah, and hanging out.  The kids are spending the night at Auntie Ky's, so we can work Saturday morning.  We may catch a movie after dropping them off.  We'll head back to the Northland and pick the kids up Saturday and hang out for  the evening.  Sunday, I work and then it will be a time of rest.  I do deserve some rest, don't I?

So, I'm curious, what's your week in review?

That they will never last. That he should not be on dancing with the stars. That Kate Gosselin needs to stay home and take care of the 8 kids she has!

Holy busy woman!

Love the "new leaf". That's exactly what I call it too! :) And it's been turned over here too. I just hope it stays!

See you next week!
