The one time every two years...
I look around me and war, destruction, tragedy, death is everywhere. It's sad really. All of the other 355 days this year, there will be termoil throughout the land. But, for 10 days, every two years, we manage to ALL come together under the same roof so to speak with peace. Which is why I love to watch the Olympics.
It's not, of course, the only reason I love to watch. The chills that run throughout my body when they play the USA Natioanl Anthem as one of our team members stands upon the highest pedistal, yep, another good reason to watch. Or, the tears that flow when a promised Gold Medal winner only receives a silver, yep, another reason I love the Olympics. The adrenaline I get when we are neck and neck for a Gold Medal, yep. Let's not leave out the speed, agility, balance, sharp shooting, muscles, yes, all reasons I watch the Olympics. A glimpse of Apalo, so easy on the eyes, yes, another reason I love the Olympics.
How about you? Do you watch? Why?
