Preparing for Winter...
Yes, folks, we all know winter is around the corner. Rather then be blind sided by it, we have chosen to prepare for it. How??? Well, let me tell you...
We started with mama having nearly two weeks off from work!!!! I know, right, 12 days!!!!! It was glorious. I'm sure the heavens opened. So to prepare for winter, I made sure we got lots of outdoor play time in. We biked/ walked to the bus stop, played with friends (outside, of course), raked leaves with daddy, cleaned out the garage, spring prepared for winter cleaned, made lots of homemade soups and chilis, and helped others out along the way.
Which reminds me, I recently blogged or maybe I tweeted, well any who, about helping out a very special family! Upon receiving the news of Stellan heading to Boston for yet another ablation, my heart strings were tugged to help where needed. So, Sarah, Alyssa, and I jumped in and cleaned the MckFamily home and decorated (even picked up a special cake made by Amanda!) That's right, on the day we were set up to go clean, Stellan and Jennifer were heading home SVT FREE! God worked a miracle, yet again, and guided the Docs in surgery and Stellan came out 100% heart healthy!!!! I'm still in glorious praise for the entire family! Can you imagine meds around the clock, monitors beeping, lives at a stand still, and now...FREE!!!!! Amazing, God!!!! Oh what a fun time we had (especially the 9 kids)!!!! Sarah posted pictures here!
We have also used this time in preparation of winter to evaluate our year. You know, our marriage and how God healed it! Our changes in entertainment, like, NO TV! Our finances, to remain debt free as we go through the season of giving. Our schedules, to assure time for friends, family, and ourselves during the holiday season. Most importantly, our walk with Christ. Keeping Him at the top and knowing He is the reason for the coming season!
Happy Winter Preparation!!!!
