Caught in a moment
I'm sure you are all wondering, "what have we been up to?" Our answer, "we have been caught in the moment..."
Aaron and I were able to go over Labor Day weekend kid-less. We did all the things adults do...watch the Xtreme Sports, eat lots of food (none on a stick, can you believe it?!), rode the chair lift, went on a ride, shared A beer, walked through the grandstand, and enjoyed ourselves side by side, hand in hand!
Earlier this week, I found myself caught in a moment of PAIN! I have been diligently visiting the YMCA a minimum of 3X a week and last week I pushed myself a bit. I walked two miles on the treadmill in 45 minutes (doesn't sound like much unless you are overweight and working hard) and slipped a disk in my back resulting in a pinched siatic nerve. I was bed ridden on ice for 3-4 days. Not my idea of a fun weekend. I watched more movies in a weekend then I ever have. Of course, after the fact, I realized I had sewing projects I could have worked on. Oh well, I soaked up the attention and let everyone do everything for me! It was nice for A weekend.
Allie has been caught in the moment on Nickjr.com. She's becoming an addict actually! Which results in no PC time for mom. Time to get a laptop! Really! Of course, I'm a perfect mom and would not actually let her rule the PC for hours at a time resulting in time to relax for me.
Jonathan has found himself caught up in books. He sat and read a whole book by himself yesterday! I was very proud, as my child dispises reading! School seems to be going well though. His bed time has not resulted in hours of crying this week, so I'd say it's been a fantastic, anxiety-free week thus far!
Aaron, well he is extremely caught up in the excitement of his weekend ahead. Me, I'm a bit scared for him! He's going on the Superior Hiking Trail north of Duluth with some guys and doing a 25 mile hike. Scary, considering the man hasn't even slept in a tent in 2 years, let alone hiked ONE mile! None the less, he will have an incredible time viewing the changing leaves, enjoying the peace, and ravishing in the time away.
I did manage to get caught in a moment of color this week as well. My daughter's newest fav past time, breaking crayons! So, I dumped them out, unwrapped (with help), and melted into marvelous colors and heart shapes.
Melt my heart, they turned out great! And I SHE now have has a lot less crayons to pick up!
So, what did you do this week to get caught in the moment?

It looks like you had a wonderful time at the fair and that the transition into the school year has been great! I love that :)
Also, I have seen the melted crayon thing before. Check this out for some great tips on using old, broken crayons to make cool new crayons that your kids will love. :)
LOVE the crayon hearts!! Great job!
God bless-
Amanda
I hope your back is feeling better, glad you just relaxed yourself! And you know what?? We didn't eat anything on a stick this year at the fair either, I just realized that. :)
