HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter everyone!
The Easter Bunny came to our home last evening. I had the night off and we took advantage of it. Jonathan found his basket on top of the fridge. He was very excited to see he had gotten a Leapster Didj with a Sonic game! (Thanks Sarah, my fellow clearance shopper) Allie FINALLY caught on (she thought it should be on top of the fridge like Buddy's) and started looking in the cupboards. She'd open and slam them shut going down the row of 4 cupboards. On the 4Th one she opened it, slammed it and said, "WHAT?" She opened the cupboard again to find her basket. She was happy to receive a Barbie, but really wanted a puppy!

After picking up the needed batteries, we were off to spend the night at grandpa and grandma's in Princeton. We arrived while everyone else was in bed and settled in for the night.

We were, ok the kids were up bright and early to start the hunt! They quickly found their baskets and then the egg hunt was on! I think Jonathan scrounged up $2.45 in the end. Allie was more concerned about getting the REAL eggs. Each child received a kite, and a chocolate bunny. Allie got a Barbie kite, a Princess coloring booklet, and an Easter coloring book. Jonathan got an Iron Man kite and airplanes that you shoot off.

By 7:45 am, all was found and we were seated for breakfast. Egg bake, homemade cinnamon rolls, coffee, juice, fresh fruit, company potatoes...mmmm....so good! Then, it was a rush to get ready and off to church.

We went to my sister's church and I'd have to say, I cannot wait for Pastor Joel to come back! His sermons are so full of energy and I really missed that this morning. The kids however, had a BLAST and made out like bandits in the candy department!

After church we headed back to my parents for dinner. Ham, green bean casserole, scalloped potatoes, rolls, Peach Tort, and brownies. Then, it was off to work for me.

After much begging from Jonathan to call in, I could not. I am currently missing out on Easter Bingo, the basket and egg hunt, time with the in laws, and homemade cheesecake! I sure hope they save me a piece.

However, being at work is not all bad. It's quiet, I'm making great money, and I get to see all the family members oogle over their loved ones in the NICU. It also helps me to remember why we celebrate Easter.

I think we often forget that Jesus died for US! With that, comes the freedom of knowing God is in control. He has control over which of us (and the babies here) live to see tomorrow. It's a harsh reality, but so much easier to accept knowing God is in control!
